Types of Skin
There are four major types of skin:
1 - Normal skin
2 - Oily skin
3 - Dry skin
4 - Combination skin
Determining your types of skin
To determine the types of skin you have wipe your face with dry tissue when you wake up in the morning .if there is oil in the tissue the skin is greasy type. If there is grease in center panel only then it is combination skin. if there is no grease on the skin at all. It either dry skin or a normal skin if the skin feel too tight or stretched shiny and parched; it is dry. If the skin feel smooth supple and elastic it is normal.
NORMAL SKIN
Normal skin is the type of skin we would all like to have. Soft, even tone with small to medium pores that are hardly visible, free from blemishes and patchy areas. Normal skin has a clear, supple, elastic and smooth surface that is neither greasy nor dry. Even though normal skin is beautiful, it still needs attention and the right kind of care. Neglect can eventually lead to wrinkles and signs of aging.
OILY SKIN
Oily skin has larger and more visible pores; it tends to be thicker and coarser in texture. It is the type of skin that has over active sebaceous glands that tend to produce excess oil, leaving the skin with a shiny greasy appearance. Oily skin has a tendency towards pimples, blemishes, black heads and white heads. However, proper care will help keep the skin clean and control excessive production of oil, eventually leading to a clearer complexion.
DRY SKIN
Unlike oily skin, dry skin is a result of the under secretion of the sebaceous glands. As a result of which skin is tight, flaky or chapped leading to a parched and dull complexion. Dryness is also increased by the sun, wind, extremes of temperature, air conditioning, low consumption of water or harsh soaps and chemicals. Proper care and the right use of products can hydrate dry skin to increase its moisture level and elasticity.
COMBINATION SKIN
The most common skin type found is combination. It is a combination of oily and dry skin and is referred by the term” T Zone” where the nose, forehead and chin area is oily but the cheeks, eye and mouth area is normal to dry. Proper care and right products will help keep the skin in order by hydrating dry areas and controlling oily areas in order to achieve a balanced complexion.
